Mild steel channel, also commonly known as U channel or C channel is measured by width x depth x weight per meter.
These sections are manufactured from S275JR grade steel and have excellent machinability and weldability. Our stocks are available in mill finish, red oxide, or Zintec finishes to offer a range of corrosion resistance properties to suit your project. To increase corrosion resistance mild steel is normally painted or galvanized after fabrication.
Mild steel channel is widely used in civil engineering and construction to support floor joists and to weight bear above window and door gaps where the structural load does not require an I beam.

Mild steel channel is supplied in lengths up to 6 meters long and can be easily cut, drilled, and machined. It is particularly suited to all methods of welding. Mild Steel Channel is produced to grade EN 10025-2 S275JR one of the most widely used steel specifications for general construction.
What Are Steel MC Channels?
MC channels, also called miscellaneous or ship channels, have flanges that are generally thicker than their webs, and thus have higher static values. The tolerances for MC channels are in accordance with ASTM A6. Unlike C channels, the inner faces of MC channels' flanges are parallel, which makes them easier to assemble. Common applications for MC channels include nonresidential building construction, stairs, foundations, and other architectural uses.

Mild steel channel in S275JR
Mild steel channel is often used for construction purposes and, most predominately, in the house building industry. With its excellent machinability and corrosion resistance, it offers structural support to different steel items. In general construction, it has a range of uses such as the lintel above doors, supporting floor joists and support in bridge building. A popular type of mild steel channel due to its high weldability and impact resistance, Grade S275JR is a favourite in the construction industry. With a tensile strength of 370-530 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 275 N/mm2, it is perfect for making shafts or axles.
